    Statement Upheld Homelessness 01-Oct-2024

Summary: Mr X says the Council ended his interim accommodation agreement unfairly. He also says it closed his homelessness application by referring it to another Borough who cannot help him. Mr X says his belongings were also stolen from his interim accommodation. Mr X says this has caused him distress. We have found fault in the Council’s actions for failing to discuss the issues Mr X raised with his interim accommodation with him before ending his agreement. The Council has agreed to issue an apology, pay a financial payment to Mr X and make service improvements.

  • Huntingdonshire District Council (24 001 425)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Highway repair and maintenance 01-Oct-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Mrs X’s complaint that the Council rejected her claim for compensation following damage to her vehicle which occurred when she hit a pothole in the road. This is because it would be reasonable for Mrs X to make a claim against the Council at court.

  • K T M Care Ltd (24 001 626)

    Statement Upheld Allocations 01-Oct-2024

Summary: Mrs X complained the Council did not allocate her a property she was in first place for, which she said caused her family to miss the opportunity of a suitable property. We find the Council at fault which caused Mrs X injustice. The Council has agreed to make a fresh decision considering all relevant information.

  • West Sussex County Council (24 006 497)

Statement Upheld Special educational needs 01-Oct-2024

Summary: We have upheld this complaint because the Council delayed issuing an Education Health and Care Plan for a child. The Council has agreed to resolve the complaint by issuing the Plan and offering to make a suitable payment to the complainant to remedy the injustice its delays cause.

  • Queensgate Healthcare Limited (24 006 060)

    Statement Upheld Charging 01-Oct-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Care Provider’s miscalculation of Mrs Y’s care charges and its subsequent contact several months later to pursue outstanding charges. The Care Provider has agreed to take suitable action to remedy the inconvenience, frustration and uncertainty the matter caused three of Mrs Y's children.

  • Redcar & Cleveland Council (24 006 073)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Enforcement 01-Oct-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the way the Council handled planning issues for similar works at neighbouring sites. There is not enough evidence of fault in the way the Council dealt with each site, and it would therefore be disproportionate to pursue the alleged complaint-handling errors in isolation.

  • London Borough of Lewisham (24 002 976)

    Statement Upheld Homelessness 01-Oct-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Miss X complaint about the Council’s failure to reassess her housing needs when she asked it to. This is because the Council has agreed to resolve the complaint early by providing a proportionate remedy for the injustice caused.

  • Cornwall Council (24 003 076)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Charging 01-Oct-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about property disregard in the financial assessment for adult social care fees. This is because even though the complainant strongly disagrees with the Council’s decision, there is not enough evidence of fault in how the Council made its decision to justify an investigation.

Summary: Ms C complains the Council has delayed in completing an Education, Health, and Care needs assessment for X.
