Cookies

What are cookies?

Most websites you visit use cookies in order to improve your user experience. Cookies are small data files placed on your computer to help websites run more smoothly.

They improve things by:

  • remembering your settings, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you visit a page
  • remembering information you’ve already given in forms so you don’t need to keep entering it
  • measuring how you use our website so we can make sure it meets your needs.

Our cookies aren't used to identify you personally. They're just here to make the site work better for you. And you can manage and/or delete these small files as you wish.

To learn more about cookies and how to manage them, visit AboutCookies.org or read on to find out more about how and where we use cookies.

So how do we use cookies?

The LGO website uses cookies in several places - we've listed each of them below with more details about why we use them and how long they last.

Which cookies do we use?

We use Google Analytics to collect information about how you use the site so we can make sure it meets your needs and understand how it can be improved.

Google Analytics stores information about the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you get here and what you click on.

We don't use cookies to collect or store your personal information (eg your name or address) so we can't identify you and we don't allow Google to use or share our data.

We also use cookies to help remember how you would like to view our site.

But I don't want you to store cookies on my computer!

Most cookies are easy to delete, and the About Cookies website can show you how to delete them from your computer.

If you do decide to delete our cookies from your computer, you may find that our website does not run so smoothly for you. For example, you will not be able to save a complaint form for future editing before submitting it, and you will not be able to sign up for our email alerts.
