Wellbeing
Introduction
At LGSCO we believe that a sense of wellbeing is as crucial as having the skills, knowledge, and equipment to be productive and happy in Great Place to Work. Wellbeing at work at LGSCO has been identified as six main areas or branches.
Each branch is independent but connected and can influence one another and an individual’s overall sense of wellbeing.
In recognising and supporting these branches of Wellbeing at work we strive to create a great place to work where colleagues feel comfortable to bring their whole self, to thrive and achieve their full.
LGSCO provides services to support employees in their work and outside the workplace.
Occupational Health Support
Occupational Health (OH) is concerned with the effects of work and health, helping the LGSCO to understand and support employees in managing their health issues. OH can advise what support is required for employees to allow them to work effectively and to assist in managing them back to work.
We are aware that employees do not want their health issues to impact their employment and also understand that GP’s and other doctors are not aware of the work environment and how we are able to make adjustments to support you. The OH team are specialists in health and work, so are best placed to understand the effects of health issues affecting people at work.
A guide to Occupational Health can be found here: LGO Intranet | Occupational health referrals
If an employee believes that their work, or some aspect of it, is putting their well-being at risk they should, in the first instance, speak to their manager or the HR Team.
Employee Assistance Programme
LGSCO understands that life can sometimes be challenging. Therefore, to support our employees we have an employee assistance programme.
