Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy
Part 1
Introduction
This document defines and establishes LGSCO Policy for Health and Safety as required by the Health and Safety at Work etc…Act 1974. It provides details of the organisation, the arrangements and emergency and other pertinent procedures currently in operation.
This policy establishes a framework for the management activity and relationships which will deliver and maintain the control of health and safety risks, and wellbeing support.
MH, Operational Support Manager has been appointed as the ‘Competent Person’ under Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 in order to assist in the application of the provisions of current health and safety legislation and in devising and applying control measures.
This policy will be held in hard copy by the Operational Support Manager. It is available to all employees on the LGSCO intranet.
About this policy
This Health and Safety Policy sets out the policy for protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our employees whilst at work and that of others who may be affected by our undertaking. It describes the organisation and arrangements for putting more detailed policies and arrangements into place.
Communication of this policy to employees
This policy is to be read by each employee on joining the LGSCO, it will be available on the Intranet and updates announced through Weekly news.
Monitoring and reviewing
Monitoring of the health, safety, and wellbeing policy is essential to assess how effectively the organisation is controlling risk.
The policy will be monitored on an ongoing basis and the appropriate sections revised and updated according to changes in the organisation and arrangements as required.
