  • London Borough of Waltham Forest (25 014 036)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Planning applications 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council granting planning permission for a crematorium within a cemetery. We cannot act as a right of appeal, and there is not enough evidence of fault in the way the Council conducted the planning process to warrant our further involvement.

  • Bury Metropolitan Borough Council (25 014 096)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Refuse and recycling 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council missing Mr X’s waste collection and the way it dealt with his complaint. There is not enough evidence of fault to justify an investigation and further investigation would not lead to a different outcome.

  • Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council (25 014 199)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Planning applications 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s handling of a prior approval application for a telecommunications mast. This is because we are unlikely to find fault and Ms X has not suffered significant injustice.

  • Epping Forest District Council (25 014 204)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Antisocial behaviour 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s response to his neighbour’s overgrown garden. There is insufficient evidence of fault to justify investigation.

  • Stratford-on-Avon District Council (25 014 222)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Planning applications 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s failure to act on a breach of planning control. The complaint is late and we have seen no good reason why the complainant could not have contacted us much sooner.

  • West Lancashire Borough Council (25 014 329)

    Statement Upheld Other 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s Environmental Health Service. This is because the Council already remedied the injustice during its complaint process, and there is a body better placed to consider Miss X’s complaint.

  • London Borough of Hounslow (25 014 423)

    Statement Upheld Council tax 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We have upheld, and will not investigate further, this complaint about council tax liability. This is because the Council has accepted fault and offered an appropriate remedy for the injustice. There are no wider public interest issues to justify investigating

  • Hartlepool Borough Council (25 014 481)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Transport 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s handling of his blue badge application. There is not enough evidence of fault in the Council’s decision on the application. There is another body better placed to consider his data protection concerns. On the remaining issues, further investigation by us is unlikely to achieve a worthwhile outcome.

  • Wiltshire Council (25 014 730)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Looked after children 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate Miss X’s complaint about the Council’s handling of safeguarding matters concerning her child, and the conduct of a social worker. The Council has declined to investigate the issues further while care proceedings are ongoing and there is not enough evidence of fault in its decision. Miss X may be able to raise some of the issues she complains about in court as part of these proceedings and should she wish to pursue the complaint once they have concluded the Council has confirmed she may do so.

  • London Borough of Hounslow (24 018 604)

    Statement Upheld Other 04-Mar-2026

Summary: Ms X complains the Council has not dealt properly with services for her family including reviewing an Education Health and Care Plan, her son’s education provision, blue badge applications, a carers assessment and has not handled her complaints properly. The Council is at fault because it delayed an Education Health and Care Plan annual review, failed to make special educational provision, closed a child in need plan without informing her and did not deal with part of her complaint through the correct complaints process. Ms X suffered a delayed right of appeal and Y missed special educational needs provision. The Council should apologise, make a symbolic payment to Ms X, repay Ms X costs of therapy provision and make service improvements.
