Derby City Council (25 012 746)
Statement Not upheld Other 24-Jun-2026
Summary: Mr X complained the Council has failed to remove or support him with the removal of an appointee to enable him to manage his own finances. We found no fault in the process the Council followed to reach its views around Mr X’s capacity and the need for an appointee of his finances to be in place. It therefore reached decisions it was entitled to make.

London Borough of Harrow (25 013 991)
Statement Not upheld Other 24-Jun-2026
Summary: We have discontinued our investigation. This is because the Council is investigating Miss X’s statutory complaint, so there is no worthwhile outcome we can achieve at this stage.
-
East Riding of Yorkshire Council (25 015 091)
Statement Not upheld Drainage 24-Jun-2026
Summary: There was no fault by the Council, in its decision that a landowner’s work to a watercourse was not responsible for subsequent flooding, and its consequent decision not to take enforcement action against the landowner for this. We have therefore completed our investigation.
-
London Borough of Bexley (25 015 288)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Homelessness 24-Jun-2026
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about unsuitable offers of housing. The complaint is late. There is no evidence Ms X could not have complained earlier and no good reasons to decide to investigate now.
-

Statement Not upheld Leisure and culture 24-Jun-2026
Summary: The Council was not at fault for the way it consulted on parking charges for a local park. Therefore, we cannot challenge the Council’s decision. The Council was also not at fault for the way it handled Mrs X’s complaint.

Tanglewood Care Services Limited (25 017 230)
Statement Upheld Residential care 24-Jun-2026
Summary: Mr X complained the Care Provider did not correctly follow its falls policy following Mr Y's fall at the care home prior to his death. The Care Provider's actions in communicating with Mr X following the fall, the lack of clear and consistent falls procedures, and its complaint handling caused Mr X uncertainty, frustration and distress which is fault. The Care Provider will apologise and make a symbolic payment to Mr X and undertake service improvements to ensure there is a single, consistent falls policy and associated guidance in use across its services.
-
London Borough of Islington (25 017 269)
Statement Upheld Allocations 24-Jun-2026
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about the Council’s handling of her housing register application. We are satisfied the Council’s actions – an apology and payment – were sufficient to remedy the injustice caused.
-
Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council (25 018 216)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 24-Jun-2026
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the date used by the Council to calculate Mrs X’s business rates liability. This is because the injustice Mrs X claims stems from the Valuation Office Agency’s decision rather than any action by the Council. If Mrs X disagrees with this decision she may appeal to the Valuation Tribunal.
-
London Borough of Hillingdon (25 018 849)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Commercial and contracts 24-Jun-2026
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s poor communication. This is because any injustice is not significant enough to justify our involvement.
-
Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council (25 019 204)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Residential care 24-Jun-2026
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about her sister’s belongings going missing at the Council’s commissioned Care Home where she resides. This is because we could not add to the previous investigation and a further investigation would not lead to a different outcome. There is also another body better placed to consider Ms X’s concerns.
