  • Adur District Council (22 016 977)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 28-Mar-2023

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council allowing the installation of a communication firm’s cabinet next to the front wall of his house, and its refusal to fund its relocation. There is not enough evidence of fault by the Council in permitting the cabinet’s installation to warrant us investigating. Even if there were such fault, Mr X bought the house when the cabinet was already there. It was Mr X’s decision to buy the property which has directly resulted in his involvement in the situation causing him his claimed injustices. We also cannot achieve the outcome Mr X wants from his complaint.

  • London Borough of Havering (22 016 542)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 22-Mar-2023

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council issuing a traffic penalty for entering a restricted area. It was reasonable for Mr X to appeal to the London Tribunals who are the proper authority to consider traffic penalty appeals. We will not consider his complaint about existing traffic signs as there is insufficient evidence of fault.

  • London Borough of Croydon (22 016 829)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 22-Mar-2023

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about Penalty Charge Notices and highway signage. This is because Mr Y has already appealed to the London Tribunals and the remaining issues are inextricably linked to the matter appealed on.

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 08-Mar-2023

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a broadband cabinet placed on the path outside the complainant’s home. This is because there is insufficient evidence of fault by the Council.

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 21-Feb-2023

  • Blackpool Borough Council (22 014 915)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 10-Feb-2023

Summary: We will not investigate Ms B’s complaint about an injury she suffered and the Council’s handling of her compensation claim. This is because it is reasonable for Ms B to pursue her claim at court. An investigation solely into the Council’s handling of Ms B’s correspondence is not justified.

  • Kent County Council (22 002 987)

Statement Not upheld Street furniture and lighting 01-Feb-2023

Summary: We do not uphold Miss X’s complaint about the Council’s installation of an LED light bulb in a streetlight outside her home and management of her complaint. The issue is now resolved, and no further action is required.

  • Brighton & Hove City Council (22 013 232)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 23-Jan-2023

Summary: We will not investigate Mrs X’s complaint about a road sign installed by the Council. Even if there has been fault by the Council, the injustice Mrs X claims has been caused to her by the matter is not sufficient to warrant us investigating.
