Warwickshire County Council (25 003 060)
Statement Upheld Residential care 28-Aug-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about adult social care in a residential care home. This is because we are satisfied with the actions the care provider has taken in response to the complaint. It has accepted fault, apologised, and will learn lessons to improve service. It is unlikely an Ombudsman investigation would achieve anything further.

Central Bedfordshire Council (24 022 635)
Statement Upheld Assessment and care plan 28-Aug-2025
Summary: Ms X complained about a social care assessment leading to a decision to end her care package. There was poor communication and a failure to act in line with Care Act 2014 eligibility regulations which was fault causing avoidable distress, time and trouble and a loss of care services. There is no fault in reducing the hours of care and support allocated to meet Ms X’s needs. The Council will apologise, make payments to Ms X and issue a reminder to council staff to provide details of the appeal procedure and to signpost us at the end of the complaint procedure.

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Allocations 28-Aug-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council refusing Miss X’s application to join its housing register. This is mainly because there is not enough evidence of fault in the Council’s decision-making to justify investigating.
-

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Refuse and recycling 28-Aug-2025
Summary: We cannot investigate Ms X’s complaint about missed refuse collections. This is because the issue stems from industrial strike action by the Council’s refuse collection crews and is a matter which affects all or most of the people in the Council’s area.
-

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Charging 28-Aug-2025

-
Buckinghamshire Council (25 005 121)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 28-Aug-2025
Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s late complaint about the Council’s handling of his child’s case between 2018 and 2019. The issues raised are closely connected to court proceedings about care arrangements for Mr X’s child. There are no good reasons to exercise discretion to investigate this late complaint now. Further, the existence of court action creates a permanent and absolute legal bar that prevents us from investigating the matter.
-
