    Summary: Miss X and Mrs Z complain about the way the Council dealt with top up fees for the late Mrs Y, and how it dealt with their complaints. The Ombudsman found the Council was not at fault in this. However, it was at fault when it sent invoices to the late Mr Y after his death, which caused distress. It will apologise and waive £150 of the outstanding fees.

    Summary: Mrs Y's complained about the amount the Council charged her parents for the work involved in setting up a Deferred Payment Agreement, which Mrs Y decided not to go ahead with in the end. There was fault in the way one of the charges was calculated and the way the Council responded to Mrs Y's initial complaint. The Council has agreed to apologise to Mrs Y and refund the amount it has overcharged.

    Summary: The Ombudsmen will not investigate Mrs D's complaint about flaws in her mother's hospital discharge and assessment of eligibility for NHS continuing healthcare (CHC). The Council and Trust have already accepted some flaws in their actions and have apologised to Mrs D. The CCG has agreed to accept a late request for a review of CHC eligibility. An investigation by the Ombudsmen is unlikely to achieve more for Mrs D and her mother.
