  • London Borough of Redbridge (24 007 100)

    Statement Upheld Other 16-Oct-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about delay in paying an adult social care shared lives carer. The Council has now resolved the complaint by paying Ms B what it owed. We are satisfied with the actions the Council has taken to resolve the complaint.

  • London Borough of Redbridge (23 011 733)

    Statement Upheld Enforcement 14-Nov-2024

Summary: Mr F complained about the Council’s handling of his planning and building control concerns regarding building works completed by his neighbour. We found some limited fault by the Council for delay in actioning his planning control and fire safety concerns. However, its apology was enough to remedy the injustice this caused him. There was no fault in the process the Council followed to reach its views, it therefore reached decisions it was entitled to make.

  • London Borough of Redbridge (24 010 265)

Statement Upheld Housing benefit and council tax benefit 25-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s delay in reviewing the complainant’s entitlement to housing benefit, as well as her dissatisfaction with its entitlement decision about this and council tax reduction. This is because the complainant could reasonably ask for a review and appeal in respect of the substantive issues complained about.

  • London Borough of Redbridge (24 008 099)

    Statement Upheld Homelessness 15-Jan-2025

Summary: Miss X complains about the Council’s actions after following her homelessness. We have concluded our investigation having made a finding of fault. The Council placed Miss X in emergency accommodation that was not suitable for occupation at the time. I did not find fault with the Council’s initial response to Miss X’s homelessness, nor the Council’s actions in response to the protection of Miss X’s possessions. While we found fault, we did not consider there was scope for further personal remedy or service improvement recommendations; the Council had already offered a fair and proportionate remedy for the injustice caused and no further action is necessary.

  • London Borough of Redbridge (24 015 147)

    Statement Upheld Allocations 12-Feb-2025

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s handling of his housing register application. This is because some of the complaint is late and a further investigation by us is unlikely to add anything to that already carried out.
