  • Cornwall Council (25 015 505)

    Statement Upheld Other 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate Miss X’s complaint about an incident that took place at the Council’s family hub. This is because the Council has already upheld Miss X’s complaint, made changes to improve safety and apologised for the incident. We consider this to be a satisfactory remedy to Miss X’s complaint.

  • Cornwall Council (25 004 704)

    Statement Upheld Direct payments 29-Sep-2025

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about charging for adult social care. We are satisfied with the actions the Council has taken to waive charges before it explained how to pay them. The remaining charges are correctly due. It is unlikely an Ombudsman investigation would reach a different outcome.

  • Cornwall Council (25 001 196)

Statement Upheld Assessment and care plan 17-Sep-2025

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about adult social care at home. The Council has apologised and acted to improve service. We are satisfied with these actions, and it is unlikely we would achieve anything further.

  • Cornwall Council (25 004 849)

    Statement Upheld Charging 15-Sep-2025

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council pursuing a care fee sum it considers due from his late mother Mrs Y’s estate, and delaying invoicing for the fees. There is not enough evidence that Council fault has led to the claimed care fee debt or to it being unpaid by the estate to warrant us investigating. Investigation of the invoice issue would not lead to a different outcome.
