  • Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames (25 002 543)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Parking and other penalties 07-Jul-2025

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint that the Council did not respond to Ms X's informal representations against a PCN. The case is now with London Tribunals, and it will decide what should happen next.

  • London Borough of Bexley (25 002 589)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Housing benefit and council tax benefit 07-Jul-2025

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about an unsuccessful application for a Discretionary Housing Payment. This is because there is insufficient evidence of fault by the Council.

  • Cheshire East Council (25 002 836)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Special educational needs 07-Jul-2025

Summary: We cannot investigate Ms X’s complaint the Council failed to consider her requests for education otherwise than at school during her child’s Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment. This is because her complaint overlaps with a SEND Tribunal appeal about her child’s Education, Health and Care Plan.

  • Lancashire County Council (25 003 033)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Street furniture and lighting 07-Jul-2025

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s decision that a crash barrier is not required at a site Mr X says is unsafe. The complaint lies outside our jurisdiction because it is late and there are no good grounds to exercise discretion to consider it now at least two years after Mr X first became aware of the matter.

  • Transport for London (25 003 091)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Parking and other penalties 07-Jul-2025

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a penalty charge notice issued by Transport for London. This is because Transport for London has agreed to cancel the penalty charge notice and this provides a suitable remedy for the complaint. It is therefore unlikely further investigation would achieve anything more for Ms X.

  • London Borough of Lewisham (25 003 235)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Transport 07-Jul-2025

Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about how the Council decided to refuse her a Blue Badge. This is because it is unlikely we would find fault in the Council’s decision making.

  • Transport for London (25 004 876)

Summary: We will use our discretion not to investigate this complaint about a Penalty Charge Notice for the Ultra Low Emission because the Authority has cancelled the fine.

  • Northumberland County Council (24 008 077)

    Statement Upheld Land 07-Jul-2025

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint the Council has not maintained a piece of land. That is because this dispute about responsibility and ownership is best considered by the courts.

  • London Borough of Haringey (24 008 207)

    Statement Upheld Homelessness 07-Jul-2025

Summary: Miss X complained the Council has failed to address a leak in the boiler in the temporary accommodation she lives in. We find the Council was at fault for failing to follow up with the landlord about a boiler part Miss X said had to be replaced. This caused Miss X frustration, upset and uncertainty. The Council has agreed to our recommendations to apologise to Miss X and make a payment to her.

  • Staffordshire County Council (24 010 858)

Statement Upheld Special educational needs 07-Jul-2025

Summary: Mrs X complained of significant delay in the Council’s assessment of her son for an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan). She also complained she was unreasonably denied sight of her son’s EP report and communication was poor. We found there was significant delay in the EHC Plan assessment process, but no fault in the Council’s overall communication and sharing of the EP assessment report. We recommended a remedy to reflect the loss of education and support during the period of delay.
