North Northamptonshire Council (25 028 910)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 21-May-2026
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint alleging the Council lost Miss X’s property. This is because it is reasonable to expect Miss X to take her claim for lost possessions to court. We also would not investigate her concerns about the Council not responding to her complaint or her requests for information. This is because we do not look at complaints handling when we are not looking at the underlying matter. And the Information Commissioner is better placed to look at Miss X’s concerns about missing information.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about issues arising from fence damage. This is because it is reasonable to expect Ms X to go to court. -
East Suffolk Council (25 031 222)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 21-May-2026

Further, Ms X can raise her concerns about the Council’s alleged failure to provide information, to the Information Commissioner as it is better placed to consider.

-
Kirklees Metropolitan Borough Council (25 011 357)
Statement Upheld Other 12-May-2026
Summary: The Council was not at fault for requiring Ms X to settle a historic debt as part of her Right to Buy (RtB) application. The Council was at fault for failing to make it clear that Ms X’s rent arrears from her time in temporary accommodation would remain on her housing account. This caused Ms X uncertainty during the Right to Buy application process. The Council has already apologised to Ms X which is sufficient to remedy the injustice caused.
