  • Lancashire County Council (24 013 616)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 26-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s involvement in matters concerning the care of Mr X’s child. This is because the issues could reasonably have been or have been mentioned in court proceedings. The Information Commissioner is better placed to deal with complaints about data protection matters.

  • Birmingham City Council (24 013 753)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 26-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a refund for £8 in relation to the Clean Air Zone. This is because there is insufficient evidence of injustice.

  • Bedford Borough Council (24 014 958)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Licensing 26-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a taxi licence decision. This is because the complaint is late and there are not good reasons to investigate the complaint now.

  • Buckinghamshire Council (24 015 029)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Planning applications 26-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Mr B’s complaint about the Council’s refusal of his planning application. This is because it was reasonable for Mr B to put in an appeal to the Planning Inspector.

  • Derbyshire County Council (24 015 045)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Highway repair and maintenance 26-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s response to a complaint about a footpath. This is because there is no indication of fault in the Council’s response.

  • London Borough of Waltham Forest (24 015 080)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Leisure and culture 26-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about the actions taken by the Council after she reported an incident in a park. Further investigation would achieve nothing more.

  • Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (24 012 695)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Allocations 26-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about an unsuccessful housing application. This is because the Council has re-opened the application and will reconsider it.

  • Birmingham City Council (24 010 865)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Special educational needs 25-Nov-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Miss X’s complaint about delay in her son’s Education Health and Care Plan annual review. This is because we cannot investigate delay by her son’s school in arranging the annual review meeting and I have seen nothing to show any fault by the Council caused Miss X or her son significant injustice.

  • Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (23 010 897)

Statement Not upheld Assessment and care plan 25-Nov-2024

Summary: Ms C complains the Council has not properly assessed her care needs and provided support to meet her needs. There is no fault in the way the Council assessed Ms C. Ms C refused services because of care charges and alternative support. The Council is therefore also not responsible for failing to provide support.

  • Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council (23 012 842)

Statement Upheld Special educational needs 25-Nov-2024

Summary: Miss X complained the Council delayed identifying a special school place for her child, Y, which led to them missing education. Miss X also complained the Council failed to provide Y with suitable school transport. We cannot investigate Miss X’s concerns about Y’s education because she had a right of appeal to the special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) tribunal about Y’s school placement. We have ended this investigation about Y’s school transport. The Council has put in place service improvements, the injustice is not significant enough to justify our involvement and there is nothing worthwhile we can achieve by pursuing this matter further.
