Statement Closed after initial enquiries Trees 18-Mar-2020

Summary: The Ombudsman will not investigate Mr and Mrs Q’s complaint about the accuracy of the Council’s records regarding a protected tree, or associated matters. This is because the injustice they have suffered is not significant enough to justify our involvement. And the Information Commissioner is better placed to deal with their request for documents.

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 18-Mar-2020

  • Birmingham City Council (19 009 546)

Statement Upheld Refuse and recycling 18-Mar-2020

Summary: Mr X complains the Council repeatedly failed to collect the recycling from his street on the scheduled days for over a year. The significant periods between collections led to a large build-up of waste which attracted rats. The Council’s repeated failure to collect Mr X’s recycling over a sustained period amounts to fault. This fault has caused an injustice.
