  • St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council (24 014 862)

    Statement Upheld Residential care 09-Oct-2025

Summary: We found fault by Broadoak Manor Care Home (acting on behalf of St Helen’s Metropolitan Borough Council) in the care it provided to Mrs X. This caused her husband, Mr X, distress and uncertainty. The Council will apologise and take action to prevent similar problems occurring in future.

  • St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council (24 022 517)

    Statement Upheld Alternative provision 13-Feb-2026

Summary: Miss X complained the Council failed to provide her daughter with a suitable education when she stopped attending school. We found fault in the Council’s communication with Miss X which caused her avoidable anxiety and frustration. The Council agreed to apologise and make a symbolic payment to Miss X.

  • St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council (25 014 256)

    Statement Upheld Other 17-Feb-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s decision to respond to a complaint via its contractual arrangement’s dispute resolution process rather than its complaints procedure. The Council remedied any injustice caused when it investigated the issues. It is unlikely, on balance, we could achieve more.
