  • Sheffield City Council (24 015 190)

    Statement Upheld Planning applications 08-May-2025

Summary: Mr X complained about the Council’s decision to approve his neighbour’s planning permission and how it handled the concerns he later raised. We find the Council at fault which caused Mr X distress and uncertainty. The Council has apologised and offered to make a suitable payment to Mr X.

  • Sheffield City Council (23 021 043)

    Statement Upheld Homelessness 26-Jun-2025

Summary: We have found fault with the Council for causing the delays Miss X experienced during her homelessness application process. We are satisfied the Council took reasonable action to put Miss X back in the position she would have been but for the fault. The Council has also dealt with the backlog of cases that caused the delays.

  • Sheffield City Council (24 021 909)

    Statement Upheld Safeguarding 21-Jul-2025

Summary: We have upheld Mr X’s complaint because the Council failed to inform Mr X of the reason to not consider his complaint and did not share the outcome of its safeguarding investigation with him. The Council has now agreed to resolve the complaint by apologising and informing him of the outcome of its safeguarding investigation.

  • Sheffield City Council (25 015 104)

    Statement Upheld Charging 31-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about poor care provided by a care provider. The Council provided a proportionate remedy so an investigation would not achieve more for Mrs X and Mr and Mrs Y.
