Find out more about service improvements

When we find fault, we can recommend improvements to systems and processes where they haven’t worked properly, so that others do not suffer from these same problems in future. Common examples are policy changes; procedural reviews; and staff training. Service improvements from decisions are published for 5 years and those from reports are published for 10 years.

    Summary

The Council did not consider Mr B’s request to extend double yellow lines outside his premises, in accordance with its policy. It also failed to consider the policy when Mr B complained to the Council about this. The Council’s failings have left Mr B uncertain that it has properly assessed his request, and put him to additional time and trouble pursuing matters. The Council has agreed a means to remedy the complaint.
