  • Devon County Council (22 013 146)

    Statement Upheld Traffic management 10-Jul-2023

Summary: Mr F complained about the Council’s decision not to require a reduction in speed limits around a housing development near to where he lives. We find the Council was at fault for failing to properly consider its traffic policy before agreeing a statement of common ground with the applicant. The Council apologised to Mr F when it responded to his complaint. This is sufficient to remedy Mr F’s injustice.

  • Devon County Council (22 016 755)

    Statement Upheld Other 10-Jul-2023

Summary: Mr X complained about the delay in the Council returning Miss Y’s child protection check so she could register as a childminder. He said this has caused her avoidable uncertainty and distress. The Council accepted there was delay in processing Mrs Y’s child protection checks. It has already made suitable service improvements and we consider the remedy it offered to Miss Y in recognition of the injustice it caused her to be suitable.
