  • Buckinghamshire Council (23 019 991)

Statement Upheld Refuse and recycling 28-Apr-2024

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about missed recycling collections because the Council has provided a satisfactory response.

  • Buckinghamshire Council (23 020 519)

    Statement Upheld Council tax 01-May-2024

Summary: We will not investigate Dr X’s complaint about the Council’s handling of her council tax arrears. She says the Council breached national guidelines and protocols during its recovery action. This is because an investigation would not lead to any different findings or worthwhile outcomes.

  • Buckinghamshire Council (23 015 822)

Statement Upheld Street furniture and lighting 09-May-2024

Summary: There was fault in how the Council responded to reports Mr X made relating to faulty streetlights in his area. There was also fault in the complaint handling about this matter. These faults caused Mr X an injustice because of avoidable inconvenience. However, the Council have already taken adequate steps to remedy Mr X’s injustice before our involvement.

  • Buckinghamshire Council (23 018 995)

    Statement Upheld Other 26-Jun-2024

Summary: Miss C complained about the conclusions the Council reached in respect of her complaint about the lack of support and other failings by the Council when she looked after her grandchildren. We found the Council delayed in considering the complaint through the statutory complaints procedure but consider it has recognised the delay and offered a reasonable payment to remedy the fault. We have not found any further fault and so we have not re-investigated the substantive issues.

  • Buckinghamshire Council (23 015 340)

Statement Upheld Special educational needs 05-Dec-2024

Summary: There was fault by the Council as there was delay providing full time education for two children with Education, Health and Care plans who moved into the area. The Council did offer travel costs for the children to stay at their old school and tuition which their parent felt was unsuitable. The Council accepted it was at fault when it considered an official complaint and offered a suitable remedy to the injustice of a payment, plus an apology before the Ombudsman considered the complaint.

  • Buckinghamshire Council (24 007 699)

Statement Upheld Special educational needs 07-Feb-2025

Summary: Miss X complained the Council failed to provide her child, Y, with a suitable school placement or alternative education since January 2024. The Council failed to inform Miss X of the outcome of the annual review of Y’s Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan. However, Miss X had a right to appeal Y’s subsequent EHC Plan and did not use it. We therefore will not investigate any lack of special educational provision, or alternative educational provision.
