Bath and North East Somerset Council (22 011 772)
Statement Upheld Parking and other penalties 04-May-2023
Summary: Ms X complained the Council had overcharged her and others at its car park since 2016, causing financial loss. We did not investigate the complaint prior to November 2021. We found the Council at fault because it did not provide clear information on car park charges resulting in Miss X overpaying. We recommended the Council provide an apology to Miss X and pay her £100 for time and trouble. Further, that it review its current practice.

Statement Upheld Direct payments 15-Oct-2023
Summary: Mr X complains the Council did not advise him about care charges towards his mother’s care costs paid via a direct payment. We find there was fault by the Council as it gave the wrong information about amounts it would pay as a direct payment. However, we do not consider this caused Mrs X or Mr X injustice.

Bath and North East Somerset Council (23 006 990)
Statement Upheld Assessment and care plan 01-Nov-2023
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the care and support Ms B received from her Care Provider. This is because the Council has investigated and recommended service improvements. We could achieve no more than this even if we investigated. We could not now provide Ms B with a remedy for any injustice caused by the fault as she is deceased.

Bath and North East Somerset Council (23 013 041)
Statement Upheld Council tax 25-Jan-2024
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a wrongly issued summons for non-payment of council tax. The Council has accepted fault, withdrawn the summons and apologised to Ms Y. This is an appropriate remedy for the injustice caused and further investigation by us would not lead to a different outcome.
