Statement Not upheld Street furniture and lighting 28-Nov-2025

Summary: Mr X complained the Council failed to take action in respect of a street light that casts excessive light into the bedrooms of his home. There is no fault in how the Council and its contractor has investigated Mr X’s complaint and taken the decision that the light should not be adjusted.

  • Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (25 001 605)

    Statement Upheld Allocations 28-Nov-2025

  • Bristol City Council (25 002 160)

    Statement Upheld Traffic management 28-Nov-2025

Summary: There was fault by the Council because of poor communication. It has apologised for this and offered Mr X a symbolic payment which is an appropriate remedy. It has reconsidered Mr X’s application for a disabled parking bay and offered him an alternative location. Mr X does not like the Council’s alternative proposal and wants the bay to be in a different location and for there to be double yellow lines at the end. The Council has explained what Mr X needs to do to request double yellow lines. The Council has explained its reasons for refusing Mr X’s preferred option. So there is no fault in its decisions.

  • Coventry City Council (25 003 417)

Statement Upheld Refuse and recycling 28-Nov-2025

Summary: Mrs X complained the Council continually failed to collect her green waste bin. We find the Council at fault for missed collections and not monitoring the collections as it said it would, causing avoidable inconvenience and frustration to Mrs X. We recommend the Council apologises and reviews its collection monitoring procedures.

  • Lancashire County Council (25 008 274)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries School transport 28-Nov-2025

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s decision to refuse the complainants’ application and appeal for home to school transport assistance for their children. This is because there is insufficient evidence of fault on the Council’s part to warrant our intervention.

  • Kingston Upon Hull City Council (25 008 647)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Child protection 28-Nov-2025

Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about children services’ action. There are no reasons to justify investigating events known to Ms X since 2021. We cannot investigate the Police’s actions. And the Information Commissioner’s Office is better placed to consider a data sharing complaint.

  • West Yorkshire Combined Authority (25 008 954)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 28-Nov-2025
