  • North Lincolnshire Council (20 003 699)

    Statement Upheld Planning applications 03-Mar-2021

Summary: Mrs X complained about how the Council decided a planning application next to her home. We found fault with the Council’s record keeping and that it failed to tell Mrs X about changes to the plans. The Council had apologised to Mrs X and it agreed to review the way it keeps records about site visits in planning applications. We were satisfied with the actions the Council agreed to, so we completed our investigation.

  • North Lincolnshire Council (20 008 164)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Planning applications 05-Jan-2021

Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s decisions not to grant his planning permissions. Mr X had rights of appeal to the Planning Inspector against the Council’s refusal decisions, to pursue the permission he wants. It was not unreasonable for Mr X to use those appeal rights. We cannot investigate one refused application Mr X submitted in 2018. Mr X appealed that decision to the Planning Inspector, which takes it outside our jurisdiction.

This is because the Council has taken appropriate and proportionate action to address the faults identified by the Safeguarding Adults Review and we cannot achieve the outcome Mrs X wants.
