Summary: The Council was at fault for not putting in place adequate provision for a child when they were out of school. The Council was also at fault for the time taken to find the child a school placement. This caused injustice as the child has fallen behind in their development. To remedy the injustice caused the Council agreed to apologise, make a payment to acknowledge loss of education to the child and secure the child suitable alternative provision while it finds a school placement.

The Council’s fault regarding the delivery of the chair caused insufficient personal injustice to warrant us investigating. The support complaint is premature for us to investigate until the Council has responded to it.

Summary: Ms D complained the Council failed to provide her with sufficient support after she approached it for homelessness assistance. She also says it did not implement reasonable adjustments. We find the Council was at fault for its failure to implement reasonable adjustments and its delay in responding to Ms D’s calls and emails. The Council has apologised to Ms D, offered a suitable financial remedy, and implemented service improvements. This is sufficient to remedy Ms D's injustice. We do not recommend anything further.

Summary: We cannot investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s issue and pursuit of payment for a penalty charge notice because Mr X has challenged its actions with the Traffic Enforcement Centre. We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about his payment to the Council as the Council has agreed to issue him a refund and is waiting for Mr X to provide his details to process it. It is therefore unlikely an investigation into the issue would achieve anything more for him.
