  • Bristol City Council (24 022 486)

    Statement Not upheld Homelessness 04-Mar-2026

Summary: Miss X complained about the way the Council handled her homelessness application and her level of priority on its housing register. We do not find the Council at fault.

  • Bristol City Council (25 016 336)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Council house sales and leaseholders 04-Mar-2026

Summary: We cannot investigate this complaint about leaseholder service charges and costs. Ms X has already used an appeal right about part of her concerns and consequently the law does not allow us to investigate. And of the other parts, she can raise any new concerns to the Tribunal about matters relating to costs, when the Council decides. Finally, we will not consider the part of Ms X’s complaint about how much the Council offered to buy her property back from her, because Ms X’s injustice is not significant enough to warrant investigation and there is no worthwhile outcome achievable.

  • Bristol City Council (25 008 617)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Planning applications 03-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the way the Council considered a planning application to extend one of its own properties. We have not seen enough evidence of fault to justify an investigation.

  • Bristol City Council (25 017 058)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Parking and other penalties 03-Mar-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about Penalty Charge Notices because any fault has not caused injustice to Mr Y.

  • Bristol City Council (25 006 572)

    Statement Upheld Allocations 26-Feb-2026

Summary: Mr X complained the Council failed to deal with a homelessness application, failed to grant appropriate housing priority and delayed responding to a SAR. He also complained about its complaint handling. We found no lack of response to a homelessness application, but we found there had been fault in the Council’s priority banding decisions. There was no fault in complaint handling. We recommended an apology and that action be taken to address the housing priority issue.

  • Bristol City Council (25 011 893)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Homelessness 25-Feb-2026

Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about the Council not securing alternative accommodation for her relative. This is mostly because the complaint is late without good reason to investigate it now.

  • Bristol City Council (25 015 032)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 20-Feb-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s delay responding via its professional escalation process about contractual issues. The issues have been resolved since Miss B complained to us. There is no worthwhile outcome achievable by our investigation.

  • Bristol City Council (25 014 393)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 20-Feb-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s interpretation of a decision by the Supreme Court in relation to the Equality Act 2010. We cannot determine a point of law and it is reasonable for Ms X to challenge the Council’s implementation of the ruling in the courts.

  • Bristol City Council (25 015 217)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Council tax 19-Feb-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a council tax summons, liability order proceedings and the Council’s enforcement agent. This is because we cannot investigate court actions. There is not enough evidence of fault regarding the enforcement agent’s authority to act on behalf of the Council.

  • Bristol City Council (25 014 514)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Highway repair and maintenance 17-Feb-2026

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the standard of the repair made to the road near to Mr X’s house. This is because there is not enough evidence of fault to justify our involvement.
