Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s handling of his application to extend his dropped kerb. This is because the Council has reconsidered Mr X’s application and agreed to the extension he wanted and this provides a suitable remedy for the complaint.

There is not enough evidence of fault in the Council’s assessment to warrant an investigation. We would not achieve a different outcome from investigating the Council’s delay in the financial assessment.

Summary: Mrs J complained the Council failed to hold a discharge planning meeting and wrongly charged her for care after she was discharged from care under the Mental Health Act 1983. It was fault not to hold the meeting; the Council has already remedied the injustice caused by this. There was no fault in the charging for Mrs J’s care.

Summary: Mrs X complained about the Council’s decision to start child protection action and put her child on a child protection plan. The Council accepted fault in failing to share information about the process with Mrs X, and apologised for the distress caused. We found the Council’s failings did not affect its decision, and its apology is sufficient remedy for the injustice.

The Council is at fault for failing to respond to some communication and delay responding to Ms X’s complaint. This has caused Ms X distress. The Council has already apologised and offered reasonable adjustments; this is a satisfactory remedy.
