West Sussex County Council (22 004 680)
Statement Upheld Child protection 06-Feb-2023
Summary: Mr X complained about the Council’s decision to put his children on a child protection plan. He said this was unnecessary and was not based on evidence. There was no fault in the Council’s decision to put the children on a child protection plan. But the Council was at fault for including incorrect information and using some inappropriate wording in its reports. However, this did not affect the outcome. The Council was also at fault for delays in the complaint process. The Council’s apology and service improvements are a sufficient remedy.
