- The Council identified other cases where it had wrongly applied Small Business Rates Relief. Such an error could result in the Council issuing backdated bills for payment of substantial business rates. The Council agreed to review those cases to decide if the people affected by its error and receiving unexpected backdated bills should also receive an apology; financial redress; any adjustments to their outstanding business rates; and or an agreed plan for payment of business rates arising from its errors.
