    Summary: The Ombudsmen found fault with a Council and a CCG in delaying care and funding assessments. This did not cause an injustice to the individual receiving care. There was an injustice to the carer with delays in being able to access respite support but they do not wish to receive an apology from the Council. The Ombudsmen did not find fault with the care provided by the organisations or with decisions to use safeguarding procedures to consider concerns about an individual’s safety. The Ombudsmen found no fault by an NHS Trust about its role in providing care equipment.

    Summary: We will not investigate Miss Q’s complaint about the Council’s assessment of her blue badge application. The Council has now renewed her blue badge. This is a fair remedy.

    Summary: The Ombudsman will not investigate this complaint about information provided by the Council regarding an appointment to give notice to get married. This is because the Council has provided a fair and proportionate response.

    Statement Upheld Special educational needs 21-Jan-2020

    Summary: Mrs F complains the Council delayed finalising an EHC Plan for her son, D, and proposed an inappropriate date for the annual review. The Council has accepted there was delay and has apologised, which is a suitable remedy for the injustice caused.

    Statement Upheld Council tax 10-Mar-2020

    Summary: The Ombudsman will not investigate this complaint about problems the complainant had in closing his council tax account and getting a refund. This is because the Council has provided a satisfactory response and there is not enough injustice to require an investigation.
