London Borough of Hillingdon (24 018 772)
Statement Not upheld Charging 04-Jun-2025
Summary: Mr X complained the Council refused to pay the weekly fee for his mother’s care which it had previously agreed to with the Care Home so his mother (Mrs Y) is at risk of losing her placement. Mr X also complained that the Council failed to consider how Mrs Y’s wellbeing would be affected when it decided to move her to a new Care Home. The Council did not formally agree to a weekly figure with the Care Home so it was not at fault for this. The Council also considered Mrs Y’s wellbeing when deciding to move her to a new Home in line with the relevant guidance and without fault.

-
Hampshire County Council (24 020 288)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Child protection 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We cannot investigate this complaint about the Council handling of Mrs X’s complaint. She has confirmed she has taken court action regarding matters that are closely linked to the matters in her complaint. Despite her view they are separable, we are legally prevented from investigating this complaint.
-
Royal Borough of Greenwich (24 020 602)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Managing council tenancies 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about despair in her Council property because we cannot investigate complaints about councils acting in their capacity as social landlord. There is insufficient evidence of fault in the Council’s decision-making when it awarded band C on its housing register to justify our involvement.
-
Bath and North East Somerset Council (24 021 630)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about the Council’s involvement in her detention under the Mental Health Act. There is not enough evidence of fault to justify our involvement. Some of Ms X’s concerns are matters for other bodies to consider.
-
Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council (24 021 722)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Rights of way 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about gates on a right of way as the matter has been resolved.
-
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council (24 021 762)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Trees 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council failing to make reasonable adjustments to help the complainant resolve issues caused by a tall tree at a neighbouring property. There is insufficient evidence of fault in the way the Tree & Woodland department responded, and any concerns about the involvement of the Adult Social Care team are premature, as they have not been considered under the Council’s complaints procedure.
-
Southampton City Council (24 021 862)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Assessment and care plan 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about an officer’s conduct during an adult social care review. It is unlikely an investigation would achieve anything more and we could not achieve what she wants.
-
Bath and North East Somerset Council (25 000 198)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about the content of the Council’s assessment for her child. The complaint is late and there is no good reason to decide to investigate now. In any case, there is insufficient evidence of fault to justify our involvement.
-
London Borough of Haringey (25 000 669)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Parking and other penalties 04-Jun-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the contents of a ‘notice of enforcement’ issued by the Council’s enforcement agents. This is because the fault Mr X alleges did not cause him significant injustice.
