Sheffield City Council (21 015 137)

Category : Housing > Allocations

Decision : Closed after initial enquiries

Decision date : 06 Jun 2022

The Ombudsman's final decision:

Summary: A tenant complained about the Council’s failure to rehouse him and its lack of support in the five years he has been on its housing register, despite his serious mental health issues. But we do not have grounds to investigate the complaint because there is not enough evidence that fault by the Council has caused the man a significant injustice.

Final decision

  1. We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s handling of his housing register application and failure to rehouse him after five years on its waiting list. This is because there is no sign of fault by the Council which has caused Mr X an injustice to warrant our further involvement in his case.
