Summary: Mr X complained the Council allowed a developer to construct new road junctions not suitable and safe for cyclists, and that do not follow relevant design standards. We found the Council followed the correct procedures and was not at fault in considering the safety of the new junctions.

Summary: Mrs Y, on behalf of Mrs X, complained the Council delayed completing a financial assessment for Mr X’s package of care and then produced an incorrect assessment causing distress. The Council accepts fault in this case and has now paid the money owed. A suitable remedy for the injustice is agreed.

Statement Upheld School admissions 14-Jan-2025
Summary: Mr X complained the admission authority gave him misleading information about a letter to support his child Y’s application and about how it made its decision not to offer them a place at the School. Mr X further complained the appeal panel did not properly consider the additional evidence he provided when it decided not to uphold his appeal. There was fault in the admissions appeal panel which caused Mr X and Y uncertainty about whether their appeal was properly heard. The admission authority will apologise to Mr X and hold a new appeal hearing and provide training for its clerk and panel members.
