-
Herefordshire Council (24 019 583)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Safeguarding 01-May-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about adult safeguarding. There is not enough evidence of fault in the process the Council followed to decide not to start a safeguarding enquiry. So, we cannot question or criticise it even though the complainant disagrees. It is unlikely we would add to the Council’s complaint investigation or reach a different outcome.

Coventry City Council (24 021 158)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Council tax 01-May-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a delay issuing a council tax bill. It is unlikely an investigation would reach a worthwhile outcome or achieve what Ms X wants. It is reasonable for her to appeal to the Valuation Tribunal if dissatisfied with the Council’s decision related to council tax support.
-
West Oxfordshire District Council (24 021 159)

-
Durham County Council (24 021 243)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries School admissions 01-May-2025
Summary: We cannot investigate this complaint about the Council failing to make adjustments for Mr X’s disability in conducting a school admission appeal hearing. This is because Mr X has started court action against the Council regarding these matters and a legal bar thus now permanently prevents us investigating them.
-
Surrey County Council (24 021 290)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries School admissions 01-May-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s in-year admissions process. This is because an investigation would be unlikely to reach a finding of fault. If Mr X believes the Council’s admission arrangements are unlawful it is a matter for the Office of the Schools Adjudicator. Mr X’s claim the Council’s actions have led to him suffering a financial loss is best considered by the courts.
-
City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (24 021 393)
Statement Upheld Other 01-May-2025
Summary: Ms X complained that the Council had failed to re-assess her son’s (Y) social care needs, prepare a child in need plan for him and carry out a carer’s assessment for her. We found fault with the Council for its failure to consider Ms X’s complaint through its children’s statutory complaint procedure. The Council’s fault caused injustice to Ms X. The Council has agreed to apologise and make a symbolic payment for Ms X’s distress.
-
Worcestershire County Council (24 021 421)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Special educational needs 01-May-2025
Summary: We cannot investigate Miss Y’s complaint about changes made to an educational psychologist’s report concerning her child. This is because it is closely linked to her SEND Tribunal appeal about her child’s Education, Health and Care Plan.
-
Spelthorne Borough Council (24 021 499)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Homelessness 01-May-2025
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s decision to end its legal duty to provide the complainant accommodation on account of his homelessness. This is because the Council’s decision carries a right of review which the complainant could reasonably request. We will also not investigate any alleged failure to provide the complainant with evidence of allegations made about her which led to her eviction. This is because the complainant could reasonably complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office which a better placed body to consider such matters.
