Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 26-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not investigate Mrs X’s complaint about the response to her complaint from the Durham Police and Crime Panel. This is because it does not meet the tests in our Assessment Code on how we decide which complaints to investigate. There was no fault in the way the Council decided to suspend Mr X from the scheme or in the way it investigated the safeguarding concerns he raised. It was at fault for the delay in investigating the concerns raised about Mr X, and in not communicating with him about this, or about the decision to suspend him from the scheme, earlier. It has agreed to apologise to Mr X and review its procedures.
