Statement Upheld Other 06-Nov-2025
Summary: Ms X complained how the Council’s Local Authority Designated Officer handled a safeguarding referral made about her. She also complained about the Council’s handling of her complaint. We find the Council at fault for not correctly following the Local Authority Designated Officer process and not communicating in an open and transparent way with Ms X during the investigation process. -
London Borough of Southwark (24 023 275)
Statement Upheld Allocations 06-Nov-2025
Summary: There was fault by the Council because of a delay in processing the complainant’s housing register application, and then enabling him to bid on properties once it had verified the application. However, the Council has already provided a suitable remedy for this. There was no evidence of fault in the Council’s decision on the complainant’s priority and bedroom entitlement. We have therefore completed our investigation.
-

This is because the Council started family court proceedings and it is reasonable for Miss X to raise her concerns with the court. Therefore, there is no worthwhile outcome achievable by our investigation.
