North East Lincolnshire Council (24 010 894)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Other 24-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a data breach during court proceedings. This is because the complaint does not meet the tests in our Assessment Code on how we decide which complaints to investigate. We have no remit to consider what happened in court. And also because the Information Commissioner is best placed to consider.

North Yorkshire Council (24 008 014)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Planning applications 24-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not investigate Miss X’s complaint about the Council’s planning process and decision for a site in its area several years ago. The complaint is late and there is no good reason for us to investigate it now. Even if we did investigate, we could not achieve the complaint outcome Miss X seeks.
-

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s handling of a planning condition for obscure glazed windows in Ms X’s neighbour’s development. This is because there is no evidence to suggest fault by the Council sufficient to warrant an investigation.
-
North Yorkshire Council (24 006 842)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Child protection 24-Sep-2024

London Borough of Redbridge (24 007 078)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Refuse and recycling 24-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s refusal to require the freeholder of blocks of flats to buy bins. There is no evidence of fault in the Council’s actions. It has not its’ duty to instruct the freeholder to buy bins. The supply, maintenance and repair of waste and recycling containers for flats, is the responsibility of the Management Agent, Resident Association or Facility Management company.
-
Goldenhill Nursing Home (24 006 918)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Residential care 24-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint that the care home misplaced a former resident’s possessions. The possessions did not belong to Ms X. There is insufficient personal injustice to warrant an investigation and it is unlikely an investigation would lead to a different outcome.
-
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (24 007 051)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Friends and family carers 24-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about an alleged lack of financial support from the Council back in 2015 when the complainant was granted a special guardianship order. The complaint is both late and historical. There are no good reasons to exercise discretion and investigate now because the passage of time means there is not a realistic prospect of reaching a sound, fair, and meaningful decision.
-
London Borough of Haringey (24 006 921)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries Homelessness 24-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not exercise discretion to investigate this complaint about the Council use of unsuitable interim accommodation in 2023. This complaint was received outside the normal 12-month period for investigating complaints. There is no evidence to suggest that Ms X could not have complained to us sooner.
-
Hampshire County Council (24 007 647)
Statement Closed after initial enquiries School admissions 24-Sep-2024
Summary: We will not investigate Mr X’s complaint about the Council’s Schools Admissions Appeal Panel’s decision not to provide his child with a place at School Z. It is unlikely the Ombudsman would find fault which caused them to lose out on a school place, and any remaining injustice is not significant enough to warrant our involvement.
