  • Mendip District Council (20 007 895)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 08-Feb-2021

Summary: A resident complained about the Council’s failure to take action concerning parked vehicles obstructing an access road at the front of her house. However we do not have sufficient grounds to investigate this matter because there is no sign of substantive fault by the Council.

  • Leicestershire County Council (20 009 250)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 04-Feb-2021

Summary: Mr X complained about the Council’s responses to him about the use of his street by heavy goods vehicles and a request for parking restrictions. We should not investigate the complaints. This is because the Council should consider his complaint about heavy goods vehicles through its complaints procedure first, and it is unlikely we would find fault with the Council’s decision not to introduce parking restrictions.

  • Cheshire East Council (20 008 112)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 02-Feb-2021

Summary: We will not investigate this complain that the Council has decided not to go ahead with changes to the highway outside the complainant’s home. It is unlikely we would find fault affected the Council’s decision.

  • London Borough of Harrow (20 009 521)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 02-Feb-2021

Summary: Mr X complains about the Council’s installation of a speed table and ramps close to his home. We will not investigate because we are unlikely to find fault in the Council’s actions. Also, it would be reasonable for Mr X or his insurers to ask the court to consider a claim if he believes traffic vibration from the table is damaging his home.

  • Bracknell Forest Council (20 007 944)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 29-Jan-2021

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint that the Council will not place double yellow lines on the road where the complainant lives. We are unlikely to find evidence of fault in how the Council made its decision.

  • Transport for London (20 006 456)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 25-Jan-2021

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about payment of the congestion charge. This is because there is insufficient evidence of injustice and insufficient evidence of fault.

  • Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council (20 008 614)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 18-Jan-2021

Summary: Mr X complained about the Council’s introduction of traffic calming measures in his locality in 2017 and its refusal to consider his request to remove them. We should not investigate this complaint. This is because we have previously considered the installation procedure in 2018 and there is no evidence of fault in the Council’s response to his recent requests for their removal.

  • London Borough of Newham (19 020 313)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 14-Jan-2021

Summary: Mr X complained about the Council’s failure to introduce parking restrictions on a street where his son lives. We should not investigate this complaint. This is because there is insufficient evidence of fault which would warrant an investigation.

  • Transport for London (20 003 571)

Statement Closed after initial enquiries Traffic management 14-Jan-2021

Summary: The complainant says Transport for London failed to send her a reminder that her resident discount for the congestion charge was about to expire. Transport for London says residents are responsible for ensuring they apply to renew their discount on time. We will not investigate this complaint. It is unlikely further investigation will lead to a different outcome.

  • Devon County Council (20 005 507)

Statement Not upheld Traffic management 08-Jan-2021

Summary: Mr X complained the Council refused to enforce legislation under the Exeter City Council Act 1987 which prohibits the parking of vehicles on pavements, grass verges and central reservations. We propose to discontinue this investigation. The complaint is out of time, it is unlikely we would find fault, Mr X has not experienced a significant enough injustice to warrant an investigation and we cannot achieve the outcome he wants.
