It has agreed to apologise and pay financial redress for the distress and trouble it has caused Mrs X.

    Summary: Mrs A has complained about a delay in discharge of her grandmother, Mrs B, from hospital in October 2018. The Ombudsmen found fault with Walsall Trust which caused an undue delay in discharge. We did not find fault with the Council.

    Summary: Mr C complained about the way in which the Council decided to remove four hours a week of sitting support. He also complained about the way in which the Council responded to his complaint about this. The Ombudsman found fault with the way through which the Council made its decision. The Council has agreed to apologise and pay Mr C £1,320, because he was unable to go out in the evening, once a week, since November 2018 (66 weeks).

The Council will apologise, refund the fees paid, pay the care fees in full going forward until any decision the resident should move, and pay Mr B £250 for his distress, time and trouble.
