Examples: Complainant has died or cannot act

  • A complainant was known to be suffering from terminal cancer and wanted to sort out her affairs before she died. Unfortunately it was not possible to give a final decision on the complaint, which concerned housing adaptations, before her death. She had no relatives or close friends acting for her and appeared to be intestate, but her minister had known of the difficulties she faced and offered to deal with the final stage of her complaint. It was accepted, from a purely pragmatic point of view, that this was a reasonable way of dealing with the matter.
