Examples: Complaint affects all or most inhabitants

These are some examples of complaints that were considered to affect all or most of the inhabitants and so were OUTSIDE the Ombudsman's jurisdiction:

  • The way in which a council carried out a consultation in connection with a bid for unitary status.
  • That a council did not obtain ‘Best Value’ in making arrangements for waste disposal.
  • That a particular project was a waste of taxpayer’s money.
