Complaint outcomes: Education

This section covers complaints about:

  • special educational needs
  • school admissions
  • school exclusions
  • school transport
  • student support

There are some other education matters we can look at, but they give rise to very few complaints so there may not be information about them here. These include things such as school repairs, school trips, school crossing patrols, and the treatment of parents.

The Ombudsman cannot look at internal school matters such as curriculum, bullying and discipline.

A 2009 note on the role of the LGO in considering school admissions complaints is available as a download (see right-hand column of page and scroll down).
